FAQ

A home lift or elevator is a great long term investment that helps you access upper level floors safely without the need to use stairs. When stairs start to become more uncomfortable to use, there are other options you may want to consider to avoid having to move out of the home you know and love. The cost of moving can be high in itself, not to mention the stress of changing your location and lifestyle. Fortunately there is a much easier solution that will help add value to your home, eliminate the need to use stairs, and allow you to stay in your current home.

There are different lift types and prices available when looking to install a lift in your own home. Pricing will depend on your home design and your specific requirements. There are several options to consider: do you require a stairlift, platform lift, compact lift or luxury residential lift? Every site is different, and the cost will depend on your site requirements. But talking to an expert who can advise you on the best solution for your needs is the first step for you to take, and Perth Lift Company will provide trusted, honest advice to help you make an informed decision about what will best suit your lifestyle. With so many companies and lifts to choose from in Australia there can be a big difference in quality, service, and price from one company to another. Costs will vary depending on the site works, the size and type of lift that you choose, and the work involved in the installation.

There are several designs used to move the lift carriage between floors, the best option depends on the site requirements. A Hydraulic Lift uses a pressurised ram and pump to lift and lower the carriage. A vacuum lift uses an air pump and a sealed lift shaft to move the carriage between floors. A cable & drum lift uses an electric motor that winds a steel cable around a specially designed drum to lift and lower the carriage. Perth Lift Co can advise you on the best option for your application.

Stairlifts or Chairlifts are designed to be mounted on your existing staircase treads and use a rail mounted carriage with a battery driven motor and seat to move the user up and down the stairs. Stairlifts can be installed both indoors and outdoors, on straight and curved staircases, providing a comfortable and safe solution to get between floors or down to a garage. Chair lifts can fit most staircases and fold up when not in use, allowing family and friends to use the stairs freely without obstruction.

Platform Lifts or Vertical Lifts A vertical platform lift also known as a wheelchair platform lift is specifically designed to help facilitate wheelchair users getting from one level to another. The platform allows the user to easily roll themselves on an open platform before safely ascending or descending. Platform lifts can fit most staircases or split-level sites and can be installed inside or outside your home.  The platform can be designed as a scissor lift style rising and lowering between different floor levels or mounted on a rail system that can be parked at the top or bottom of the staircase and folded up against the wall when not in use.

Shaftless Home Lift or Mini Residential Elevator Unlike a regular lift or elevator a shaftless compact lift is specially designed to be installed in a home that initially had not been designed to have a lift installed. A shaftless compact lift is a great choice when trying to retrofit into your home because unlike other lifts, the shaftless compact lift does not require an existing shaft, separate machine room, lift pit or expensive site works. Due to its innovative design and small footprint the shaftless compact lift can be quickly installed almost anywhere with a typical installation taking less than 2 days.
