Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators (PVE) are the only residential elevators in the world that operate using air pressure differentials instead of cables, pistons, or pulleys. These self-supporting lifts use pneumatic technology to create a vacuum above the cab, generating lift, while gravity allows for a smooth and controlled descent.
Constructed with a vertical polycarbonate cylinder and a fully enclosed lift car, the PVE system creates a pressure imbalance within the hoistway using integrated turbines and valves. As air is removed from the upper chamber, the cab rises. To descend, controlled air re-entry allows the car to lower gently and safely. This system eliminates the need for a pit, shaft, or machine room, significantly reducing the space and structural requirements for installation.
Each unit is custom manufactured to suit the height and specifications of the home, making it ideal for both retrofit projects and new builds. The freestanding design allows installation directly onto the existing ground floor surface, with minimal building work required.
PVE Vacuum Elevators – for space-saving home elevator solutions in Perth
Three model sizes are available:
PVE lifts Perth are engineered to meet international safety standards, operate on standard 240V power, and require very low ongoing maintenance due to their non-mechanical lifting method. With 360° visibility, compact footprint, and elegant design, PVE offers a forward-thinking residential lift solution for modern WA homes.
Benefits of the Vacuum Elevator:
Unique Design – Panoramic 36o views
Self-supporting structure – Ideal for new and existing homes due to the minimal space required to accommodate the lift
No Pit excavation, hoist way, or machine room needed – Installation directly on the existing floor
Absolute Safety – In case of a power failure the car automatically descends to the lowest level
Due to its self-supporting structure the elevator can be installed onto any level ground surface and can service 2-5 stops, with a total travel distance of up to 15m. Installation takes 1-2 days.
Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators are driven by AIR and require much less space, energy and maintenance compared to traditional home lifts. These lifts consume minimal energy during ascent and gravity is used for descent.

In case of a power failure the cab will automatically descend to the lowest level and passengers will be able to exit safely.
